Originally Cloch design, creative director and master craftsman Gerry Whelan designs and constructs contemporary products combining Ireland’s past and contemporary future. Each artwork is unique and in some cases the natural elements selected to make it can be up to 5000 years old. The wood is carefully selected and considered for its unique form, then gently carved and shaped to enhance nature’s art. Stones are carefully picked from the river bed of the local Owenbrin river and turned into sculptures which are attractive in external or interior design settings. Feature lighting pieces also augment the collection with a range of exciting materials from around the world being utilised. All lighting complies with the latest EU rules and directives. The Gerry Whelan Design studio is located on the Wild Atlantic Way in the village of Gortmor, Tourmakeady, Co Mayo, Ireland. Gerry Whelan Design also undertakes projects on a commissioned basis and is open to considering work in the architectural and interior design space. If you have a project or are considering a feature artwork for your home or garden please get in touch.
